About
About The Drain Lads
A commercial drainage business built around practical, hands-on experience, straightforward communication and drainage work that fits around how a site operates.
Who we are
A new drainage brand, backed by long-standing industry experience
The Drain Lads is a newly established commercial drainage business. The brand is new — the experience behind it is not.
The drainage professional behind The Drain Lads has over 20 years of experience working in the drainage industry. That experience covers the type of work commercial premises actually generate: blocked and backing-up systems, silted and grease-laden runs, root ingress, damaged and displaced pipework, surface water problems in yards and car parks, and drainage that has quietly deteriorated until it fails at the worst possible moment.
We are deliberately not presenting the company as something it is not. The Drain Lads has not been trading for two decades, and there is no invented client list or borrowed history on this website. What is on offer is the working knowledge of someone who has spent a long career in drainage, applied to commercial sites that need the problem understood as well as cleared.
Domestic drainage enquiries are welcome, but the focus of the business is commercial: business premises, industrial operations, managed property and organisations responsible for more than one site.
Commercial first, by design
Commercial drainage is a different discipline to domestic call-outs. The systems are larger and often shared, the consequences of failure are measured in closed kitchens, blocked loading bays and unusable washrooms, and the person instructing the work usually has to justify the cost and the findings to someone else. The way we work reflects that.
Say what is actually wrong
Findings are described plainly: what was seen, where it is, what caused it and what the realistic options are. If a drain needs nothing more than cleaning, that is what we will say.
Give you something you can pass on
Facilities and property people rarely make the decision alone. Notes, footage and photographs are provided so the position can be shared with a landlord, tenant, client or insurer.
Work around the site, not through it
Access, trading hours, deliveries, staff and the public all shape how a job is carried out. Those constraints are discussed before attendance rather than discovered on arrival.
Keep pricing understandable
Scope is set out before works proceed, and where an investigation is needed first, that is quoted separately from any repair it might lead to.
Who we work with

Our work is aimed at people who are responsible for premises rather than people who simply occupy them.

Capability
Reactive drainage and planned maintenance
Most commercial drainage work falls into three groups. We are set up to handle all three, and to move a site from the first to the third where it makes sense.
Reactive drainage
Blockages, backing-up gullies, flooding, odours and drainage that has stopped working during the trading day. The immediate priority is restoring flow, then identifying whether it will recur.
Investigation & reporting
CCTV surveys and drainage investigations that establish condition, layout and liability — used for recurring problems, pre-acquisition checks and disputed responsibility.
Planned maintenance
Scheduled cleaning and inspection for sites where drainage failure is disruptive or expensive — kitchens, yards, interceptors and buildings with a history of blockages.
On site
Working around operational premises
Very few commercial drainage jobs happen on an empty site. Most are carried out while a business is trading, a warehouse is loading or a building is occupied.
Before attending, we want to know the practical detail: where the drainage runs are believed to be, whether chambers are inside a secure yard or under a car park bay, who holds the keys, whether a vehicle can get close enough to work, and what times of day are genuinely workable. Those questions save far more time than they take.
On arrival, work areas are set out so that customers, staff and vehicles can keep moving where possible. Where drainage work cannot avoid affecting an area — a closed washroom block, a coned-off loading bay, a section of yard — we would rather agree that with you in advance than present it as a surprise on the day.
When the work is finished, you get a plain summary of what was done and what was found, including anything that will need attention later. If a further visit or a different approach is required, we say so rather than repeating a temporary fix.

The Drain Lads carries public liability insurance, and the drainage professional behind the business has over 20 years of drainage industry experience with the equipment in place to deliver every advertised service. Qualifications, accreditations and certification logos will be added only once the details can be evidenced — if you need contractor documentation before instructing works, ask and we will supply what is genuinely in place.
Public liability insurance
The Drain Lads carries public liability insurance for the drainage works it undertakes. Confirmation of cover is available on request before instructing works; the specific cover level will be published here once supplied.
20+ years' industry experience
The drainage professional carrying out the work has over 20 years of drainage industry experience, covering surveys, jetting, unblocking, repairs and planned maintenance on commercial systems. The Drain Lads is a new brand; the experience behind it is long-standing.
